Community Fundraising
Individuals, groups, schools and community organisations regularly fundraise for Greystanes and funds raised by our community have a real impact on the services Greystanes can provide.
The Lapstone Social Club have sold raffle tickets at the Lapstone Hotel for 33 years, raising over $1000,000 in that time for services and equipment for Greystanes Disability Services. We cannot thank you enough for your support!
You might wish to participate in an event and fundraise on behalf of Greystanes or you may want to organise a fundraiser, such as a trivia night or a garage sale. Whatever your idea, contact our Community Engagement Coordinator, for advice and assistance on 0439 990 249 or email

MUM SHAVES HER HEAD FOR GREYSTANES
For Heather Sutherland, the decision to raise funds is personal – her daughter Rachel lives in a community home supported by Greystanes Disability Services.
“Greystanes saved my life,” she said. Rachel has multiple disabilities and complex health care needs and “for the first 10 years of Rachel’s life, I only had about three hours sleep each night because her support needs are so high. And with two other children to look after as well, it just wasn’t sustainable. Greystanes has taken on my role 24/7 when I can’t be there, and I know that Rachel is happy and well supported.”
Heather, with the support of her employer Katoomba Coles, arranged a community fundraiser at the store where she and another colleague shaved their heads for their favourite causes. Heather raised $1,550 for Greystanes.
With her hair slowly growing back, Heather and Coles Katoomba were presented with certificates of thanks from the Chairperson of the Greystanes Foundation, Pauline Neall.
“The amount raised is fantastic,” said Pauline, “even more meaningful is the genuine commitment Heather and Coles Katoomba have shown to our community.”
