We are leaders in best practice with over 65  years of experience. We practice Person Centred Active Support to improve quality of life, ensuring engagement and participation in all aspects of support. Our person-centred active services aim to enable people to gain control over their lives, increase independence and be included as valued members of their community.

We participated in a long-term research project with La Trobe University to implement and monitor our success in providing Person Centred Active Support to people with disabilities. Person Centred Active Support is about providing enough support to enable people to participate successfully in meaningful activities and relationships.

Living in the Community

Home and Living (Supported Independent Living) 24/7 in the Blue Mountains and South Penrith

Greystanes Community Living provides 24/7 supported independent living to people with disability who have significant support needs. Our community homes are fully accessible and are located in the Blue Mountains and the Nepean area. People are supported to participate in their local community, to develop relationships and to exercise choice in their daily lives.

Our compassionate staff of Support Workers and Nurses have ongoing training to ensure that participants are engaged and treated with dignity.

Our Community Living Service assists people with disability who may require significant support in their lives to participate and engage, to communicate, to exercise choice and control and decision-making, and for daily living and good health. Our services operate in strong partnership with the person and their family or guardian, based on a person-centred plan and through a Person Centred Active Support framework.

Participating in the Community

Day Programs provide meaningful and enjoyable educational, recreational and skill-building daytime activities to adults with a range of support needs.

Individualised programs are developed based on the person’s needs, preferences and goals. Day Programs facilitates activities in the community and seeks to provide maximum opportunities for people to develop meaningful relationships. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm.
